Boutheina Ben Abdelmoumen Mardassi is a Veterinary Medical Doctor from Tunisia and holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the Biotechnology Research Institute of Montreal and the University of Montreal, Canada. Since 1998, she has been a Professor at the Institut Pasteur de Tunis, where she leads research and diagnostic activities within the Mycoplasmas Laboratory. She currently heads the Research Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology, Vaccinology, and Biotechnology Development. Her research primarily focuses on advancing the understanding of mycoplasma genomics and elucidating the genetic mechanisms underlying the evolution of antibiotic resistance.
